Technical Skills Coach

Role Details

Post Title: Skills Coach
Nature of the Role: Full time (part time proposals may be considered)
Reporting to: Lead Skills Coach
Annual Salary: £33,000 – £35,000 pro rata
Pension: Aviva pension scheme with a 10% employer contribution
Holidays: 30 days, plus up to three additional days for length of service
Location: Based in Manchester (Ancoats) with weekly on-site client visits in Sheffield. This is a hybrid role requiring two on-site days per week.

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of Apprentices, conducting check-ins and progress reviews with both Apprentices and Employers.
Support apprentices with assessments and help them develop their broader professional and academic skills.
Facilitate skills workshops to deliver co-curricular content.
Help Apprentices find developmental opportunities at work, meet the requirements of their work-based portfolios, and remove barriers to their progress.
Maintain compliance with funding rules by carrying out timely interactions with your caseload in accordance with local policy.

Requirements and Experience

You must have experience monitoring and reporting on individuals’ progress, or coaching learners/apprentices in their career development.
You must have experience tracking learners through assessments (e.g., the EPA process) and liaising with relevant regulatory bodies.
You should possess excellent teamwork and communication skills, high-quality organisational skills, and a good knowledge of the Apprenticeship landscape.
You need to be responsive to your caseload and employers, maintaining a solution-focussed mindset.
Desirable but not essential: Professional experience in software, cyber, or data analytics, and/or a Degree/Higher Apprenticeship in a technical subject (such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a STEM subject).
