FAQ’s

What is a V Level?

A V Level (Vocational Level) is a highly practical, coursework-driven Level 3 qualification designed for students who prefer hands-on learning over traditional end-of-year exams. At Ada, our Vocational Pathways include the V Level in Digital Systems & Data, which focuses on real-world, project-based tech skills. V Levels carry the exact same UCAS tariff points as standard A-Levels, meaning they are fully recognized by top universities and digital employers, but they allow you to build a portfolio of practical work throughout the two-year course.

What subjects will I study on the Vocational Pathways at Ada?

The Vocational Pathways at Ada provide a practical, well-rounded tech education made up of three A-Level equivalent qualifications. Every student on this route studies a core combination of V Level Digital Systems & Data alongside Digital Games Production. For your third subject, you choose between A-Level Business or A-Level Graphics.

Should I choose A-Level Business or A-Level Graphics for my Vocational Pathway?

Your choice depends on your career goals. Combining the core subjects with A-Level Business is ideal if you aspire to become a games producer, digital product manager, or tech entrepreneur. Choosing A-Level Graphics is perfect for students wanting to become technical artists, 3D environment designers, or UI/UX professionals.

Are the Vocational Pathways equivalent to A-Levels?

Yes. The combination of V Levels, Digital Games Production, and your chosen A-Level generates UCAS tariff points equivalent to three full A-Levels. This ensures you have the exact qualifications needed to progress into higher education, degree apprenticeships, or straight into the tech industry.

How can I apply for the Vocational Pathways for September 2027?

You can apply for the September 2027 intake via the Ada online portal. We strongly encourage prospective students to apply early during Year 11, which will give you the opportunity to attend taster days and finalize your choice between the Business and Graphics routes.
