FAQ’s

What is a T Level?

A T Level (Technical Level) is a modern, two-year qualification designed in collaboration with top employers as a highly practical alternative to A-Levels. At Ada, our Technical Pathways are delivered as T Levels, which means they are equivalent in size and UCAS points to three full A-Levels. The defining feature of a T Level is the mandatory 45-day industry placement, which gives you 80% classroom learning and 20% real-world experience in the tech sector.

What are the Technical Pathways at Ada?

The Technical Pathways at Ada, the National College for Digital Skills, offer a rigorous, two-year technical qualification designed for students who want to specialize early in the tech industry. The pathway is equivalent in size and UCAS points to three full A-Levels, and you can choose to specialize in either Digital Software Development or Digital Data Analytics.

What does the industry placement involve on the Technical Pathways?

A core feature of our Technical Pathways is a mandatory 45-day industry placement. Students get to work directly with our leading employer partners, gaining hands-on, real-world experience in software development or data analytics that gives them a massive advantage in the job market and apprenticeship applications.

Can I go to university with a Technical Pathway qualification?

Yes. Because the Technical Pathway is equivalent in size and UCAS tariff points to three A-Levels, it meets the entry requirements for top UK universities. Graduates from this route are perfectly positioned for university degrees in Computer Science and Data Science, as well as highly competitive elite degree apprenticeships.

How do I apply for the September 2027 Technical Pathways intake?

Applications for the September 2027 intake are submitted directly through the Ada admissions portal. The Technical Pathways are highly competitive due to the 45-day industry placement, so we recommend applying early in Year 11 to secure your place.
