Workday is a global tech powerhouse that builds cloud software to help businesses manage everything from their finances to their people and student data. We are incredibly proud to partner with them on a number of initiatives, but for our students, nothing quite beats the impact of a workplace visit.
Last Friday’s trip was all about stepping out of the classroom and getting a genuine feel for the tech industry. The day kicked off with a brilliant introduction from Nikki Hollis, who shared her own career journey and gave our learners some invaluable, real-world advice for succeeding in the sector.
From there, it was straight into speed networking. Students had the chance to pick the brains of Workday volunteers across a variety of departments, getting the inside scoop on what different roles actually look like day-to-day.
To put all this new knowledge to the test, our learners then dove into scenario-based challenges, using their problem-solving and teamwork skills to tackle real-life business briefs.
A massive thank you to Colm Canning and the entire Workday team for hosting such a fantastic day, sharing your expertise, and helping us inspire the next generation of digital talent!
