Whether you already know you love computer science, or you are simply curious about exploring a career in tech, maybe as a software engineer or even a games designer, we would love to welcome you to Ada, the National College for Digital Skills.
It’s completely natural to look at the rise of AI and worry about the impact it might have on computer science, or to wonder if there is still a reliable future in the industry. Honestly, the reality is the exact opposite! Big companies are super eager to roll out new smart technologies, but they’re actually facing a huge shortage of people who know how to make them work. In fact, 54% of AI pilots never reach production due to implementation gaps.
The tech world desperately needs skilled, creative humans to step in and guide these tools in the real world which is where our students come in.
What makes Ada so special is how we help our students bridge the gap between sitting in a classroom and actually launching their tech career. Because every single student here studies computer science in some way, they’ll be part of a vibrant, friendly community of people who share the same passions. Through our Ada Skills programme, we bring in industry professionals to offer one-on-one mentoring, mock interviews, and practice for assessment centres. We support students through every step, and we have had brilliant success helping our students land highly competitive tech apprenticeships with massive companies like Amazon, Bank of America, and Deloitte.
Our courses go far beyond reading textbooks. We design our pathways right alongside our industry partners, making sure students are learning exactly what they need for the career they want. They’ll get to go on exciting workplace visits and dive into three-day industry projects, working on actual, real-world briefs from companies like King Games, the creators of Candy Crush and one of our founding partners! Plus, most of our students get the chance to do hands-on work experience with a tech company before they even finish their studies through summer work placements.
We truly believe that absolutely nothing should stand in the way of a student’s education. To make sure they have everything they need, we provide a free laptop for every single student, and we in some circumstances offer travel bursaries to take the stress out of commutes. All of this dedicated support helps our students achieve the top computer science results in the country, including a 100% pass rate that we are incredibly proud of.
