Mamon Maihanwal | Same Interview | One Year Later

Our Year 12 students have officially wrapped up their first year at Ada! Here’s what’s changed for Mamon, a student on the Innovator pathway studying a BTEC Level 3 and A-Level in Business, since his very first interview 10 months ago.

Innovator PathwaySixth form

What is your biggest goal right now?

November 2025

At this moment in time, I’m just trying to do my best in the course I’m in. So, in the future, hopefully I can secure a degree apprenticeship with a successful corporation.

June 2026

Well, my biggest goal right now is the same thing that I said in the first interview. I’ve been reaching out to a lot of large corporations in search of degree apprenticeships. Yeah, that’s the main goal of the year.

Is there anything you’re nervous about?

November 2025

The work is quite heavy, but with successful planning, I was able to manage.

June 2026

The work’s been a lot, I will say, but I ended up getting out with the highest possible grades. So, you know, I thank my past self for that! Really, to be honest, everything’s died down because all the exams are over and all the coursework is over. The only thing left now is my holiday and a little mock, which should be easy to go through.

What’s your dream job?

November 2025

Well, I was looking into being a salesman, an analyst, or going into consulting.

June 2026

Right now, I believe your best approach is to go into a corporation in which you find the best work ethic. Because once you get to know the people, then it doesn’t really matter what you’re doing, it’s more about who you’re doing the task with.

What would you say to your past self?

November 2025

I think it would just motivate me to keep trying, keep doing my best. I would have given him more knowledge, more advice that would help him throughout his years.

June 2026

I’d probably tell him to change his shirt because he looks like an absolute melon! And probably to pay more attention to the specs that he’s given and explore more opportunities that he could have in the time. I’d keep telling him to just keep focusing on his work, take time to get yourself a good break, you know, and eventually you’re going to make it.

What are you most proud of since the last interview?

…

June 2026

Academically, I’ve been getting a very large boost in grades and I feel myself progressing compared to who I was before Ada. Like I mentioned before in my last interviews, it’s been great. I’ve been having amazing experiences expanding my network. So, pretty much everything went as planned.

What’s your next step looking ahead at the start of Year 13?

…

June 2026

It would mainly be to reach out to other companies in search for degree apprenticeships. Yeah, that’s the main goal of the year.
