What can I study at Ada?

Ada’s curriculum offers a range of distinct but connected pathways designed to support learners at every stage of their computing and digital journey, from foundational digital skills through to specialist Level 3 programmes aligned with industry and university expectations.

What qualifications can I study at Ada?

Students can take a BTEC Diploma in Computing, worth 2 A-levels, combined with another A-level in subjects carefully selected to align with a wide variety of jobs in the tech industry. Each pathway combines technical computer science study with creative or analytical subjects to prepare you for university or a tech degree apprenticeship. 

Students can also study a T Level in Software Development, equivalent to 3 A-levels. 

What are the entry requirements?

All pathways require a minimum of five GCSEs (average grade 5 or above) including passes in English Language and Maths. Specific pathways have higher grade requirements. You will find the grade entry requirement on each pathway page. 

The entry requirements for the T Level are 5 or above in English Language and Maths, 6 or above in Computing, and an average of 5 across a minimum of 5 GCSEs. 

Do students get work experience?

Yes!

Every Ada student takes part in industry projects, with some of these awarding the best performing students with additional work experience opportunities such as BofA etc.

Some of our industry partners also offer work experience opportunities our learners have to apply for.

At the end of Year 12, we endeavour to offer curated summer work experience opportunities for our learners with our industry partners. These opportunities fall in the summer holidays and can last for up to two weeks. In the past, our learners have profited from work experience at, amongst others, Youview, Digital Catapult, Genesis Global, Bank of America and Hoja.

What kind of careers can I go into after Ada?

Our pathways lead to roles such as software developer, data analyst, UX designer, digital marketer, and IT consultant. Many graduates progress to degree apprenticeships or top universities in tech and digital fields.
