Welcome to Ada!

We are the Government’s National College for Digital Skills, passionate about educating, supporting and creating the next generation of digital pioneers. We are a small, specialist college committed to supporting them to progress onto highly skilled roles in the digital sector.

Many of our students are passionate mathematicians both for the love of the subject but also for more pragmatic reasons such as a desire to succeed or start their own business one day.

From our first cohort over 80% of our alumni went on to study computer science or maths related degrees or progressed into tech apprenticeships with firms like Google and Siemens – many of them delivered by our very own Higher Level and Degree apprenticeship team who train entry-level developers and data analysts for 25+ blue-chip companies.

We are passionate about high quality teaching and learning, using industry problems to bring subjects to life for our learners and thinking of innovative new approaches to communicating some of tech’s more challenging concepts.

As a small college in Tottenham Hale, north London, we have a very diverse student body from a wide range of backgrounds and are committed to using tech as a tool for social mobility. We offer a supportive culture for students and staff and our excellent industry links ensure you get regular formal and informal CPD to support your teaching and technical knowledge and development.

Criteria for the role

We are looking for an excellent teacher of Mathematics to join our talented team of 6th form teachers at Ada. There may also be opportunities to teach on our Further Mathematics and Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) programmes for a suitably qualified candidate.

The successful candidate will have strong academic credentials, and a proven record of outstanding teaching. A vital qualification will be that you share the vision of the college of delivering mathematics alongside our core computing curriculum in an innovative and engaging way that embodies the beliefs and values of the College - to put real world industry involvement at the heart of our curriculum.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will work closely with the Head of Mathematics to develop high quality content and deliver excellent lessons. For experienced practitioners, there may be opportunities for you to lead on elements of the course suited to your individual expertise.

At Ada, you will work in an agile and fast-paced environment with an aspirational group of teachers and students who are super passionate about mathematics, computing and digital skills. Our ambition is to grow our student volumes as our reputation grows while maintaining the high quality and unique nature of our cohort.

Additional Information All 6th form students complete a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Computer Science, and may pick one or more additional subjects to study alongside this qualification. The options we offer allow students to study subjects that will equip them for a range of roles available within the digital sector.
