Tina, our Head of Computer Science, invites you to take part in celebrating the Internet and its power to change our world.
Mozfest is a seven day celebration for, by, and about people who love the internet, showcasing world-changing ideas and technology through workshops, talks, and interactive sessions.
The Mozilla Spaces (think “stages” at a music festival) are: Decentralisation, Digital Inclusion, Openness, Privacy and Security, Web Literacy, and the Youth Zone. More about the spaces here: https://mozillafestival.org/spaces. Each Space is made up of many sessions, which are hands-on, educational gatherings based around a specific topic within its Space.
This year, some of us at Ada are very proud to be Youth Zone “Wranglers”. Wranglers are the people behind the scenes that work to make Mozfest awesome. We spread the word about the festival, review sessions, support and work with facilitators, creating the schedule and finally we are there on the weekend (and before) to make sure the space looks great and the experience for participants is the best it can be.
The Mozfest Space Wranglers are hard at work reviewing proposals for Mozfest, so if you’ve submitted one, hang tight, you’ll hear soon. All the proposals made are on github here: https://github.com/MozillaFestival/mozfest-program-2018/issues - there have been 731! We still have a lot of work ahead of us and some great sessions to review.
But Mozfest also needs participants to make it the amazing experience it is. How can you get involved at this stage?
If you want an unforgettable experience and have the whole weekend how about volunteering? As a volunteer you get:
full weekend access
free food & drinks onsite
access to the parties
