Year 12 Industry Project with PA Consulting

On Wednesday morning, PA Consulting set our students a challenge: “How might we leverage technology to empower individuals and communities to take better control of their health and wellness?”

Corporate PartnershipsEmployersSixth form

Our Ada students then took on this challenge in teams of five to six, working intensively over three days. Their efforts culminated in a final presentation on Friday to a panel of judges from both Ada and PA Consulting.

PA Consulting is a global professional and innovation consultancy, with 19 offices worldwide, 4,000 employees, and expertise across eight key sectors:

● Consumer & Manufacturing
● Defence & Security
● Energy & Utilities
● Financial Services
● Public Services / Government
● Healthcare & Life Sciences
● Transport

Over the past two academic years, PA colleagues have dedicated over 150 volunteer hours across Ada’s London and Manchester campuses. Their support has played an invaluable role in enriching the experience of both our Sixth Form students and Apprentices. This has included mock interview practice, presentation feedback, and personalised support for apprenticeship assessment centres. PA volunteers have also delivered lectures and workshops on UX design, programming, and data visualisation, alongside numerous career insight talks. Five PA colleagues are even mentoring students over a two-year period, focusing on developing professional and communication skills!

On Wednesday, students were treated to an inspiring talk from Barry Chesterman, who shared insights from his career and his work on the Covid-19 vaccine. This was followed by an inclusive design workshop led by Sophie Jansz and a series of role-specific sessions delivered by PA colleagues from across the organisation. These workshops covered a wide range of professional skills, including top-down thinking, wireframing, project and time management, presentation techniques, and analyst fundamentals.

And on Friday, they delivered their final pitches to conclude the challenge!

Following the initial judging round, three finalist teams were selected to present to our VIP judging panel: Anita Chandraker, Imran Razzaq, Alan Clarke, Ada Co-Founder Tom Fogden, and Principal Sarah Salimullah.

Every team brought forward a fantastic idea, creative, ambitious, and thoughtfully delivered and after much deliberation, our winning team was announced…

Congratulations to Team Medico!

A huge thank-you to all the PA volunteers who have supported our learners throughout the week. We deeply value our partnership with PA, and this project is a testament to the hard work and collaboration between the PA and Ada teams.
