World Wide Technology – T Level Placement

A few of our year 12 T-Level students have just returned from an intensive, three-week industry placement at World Wide Technology (WWT)! From designing network infrastructures to mastering the art of the “perfect pitch,” our students stepped out of the classroom and into the heart of global tech.

Following an introduction to company values by the WWT leadership team in week one, our students were immediately challenged to step out of their comfort zones. They collaborated with apprentices to build prototypes using Micro:bits before presenting their ideas to various teams across the office. They also joined a group project to design a company’s network infrastructure alongside peers at both WWT and Cisco.

The second week shifted focus toward the professional soft skills that turn a coder into a leader. Students were introduced to the role of a Solutions Engineer, highlighting the bridge between technical knowledge and customer satisfaction, participated in a session on presentation skills, and learned how to structure AI prompts using context, purpose, and results.

If that wasn’t enough, the third week really took off with presentations from experts at Dell Technologies, demystifying PowerEdge servers and discussing “The Phoenix Project ” and the future of human progress through technology. The group even got to see Meraki sensors and CO₂ monitoring in action at Cisco’s London office.

Through these three weeks, our students have gained a network of mentors and a newfound confidence in their own professional presence, experiences that simply can’t be replicated in a classroom.

We want to extend a massive thank you to the team at WWT for their incredible support, and to our brilliant students, Akira, Ayyub, Eliud, Sharon, and Jasmine for representing Ada so well!

We’ll see you back at WWT in November!
