The visit offered our learners a fantastic insight into one of the world’s leading technology companies. Students took part in a range of interactive activities, including a Pace Port innovation challenge, speed mentoring with TCS volunteers, a “Smashing Stereotypes” creativity task, and a workplace-based design thinking challenge. They also had the chance to network with professionals and experience first-hand what it’s like to work in a global tech organisation.
During the visit, students learned about TCS’s background, values, and strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. They heard from employees about their career journeys and received valuable advice to support their own future pathways.
One highlight of the day was a challenge to design a technology-based solution to make London safer and greener. One group proposed automatic streetlights equipped with CCTV, aiming to improve night-time safety, reduce crime, and increase the chances of successful prosecutions through recorded footage.
Overall, the experience was inspiring for our students, giving them a deeper understanding of the tech industry.
