To put this into perspective, we believe over 200 students from around 20 schools and colleges applied, with just 60 shortlisted, including 12 of Ada’s 17 students.
This is an outstanding result!
This is the first time Amazon has run the placement process this way. Rather than allocating a set number of places to each school or college, Amazon aligned their T Level placement application process with their full Apprenticeship application process. In order to be shortlisted, students had to:
- Submit an application form and CV
- Answer a set of questions around their motivation for applying
- Explain what they would bring to Amazon if selected
Once shortlisted, students were then invited to attend a remote Assessment Centre, which followed a structured format:
- 15 minute welcome call
- 30 minute group exercise
- 30 minute interview
- 30 minute presentation
To have 10 of the final 20 placements awarded to Ada students under this new structure is exceptional!

Resilience, adaptability, and continuous improvement were evident throughout – exactly what we look for in future leaders.

Your ability to challenge views constructively while maintaining group harmony was impressive. You demonstrated mature leadership capabilities.
This result showcases the talent, dedication and professionalism of our students and staff.
What are T Levels?
T Levels are two-year courses that young people can take following GCSEs, broadly equivalent in size to 3 A levels and accruing UCAS points. T Levels are developed in collaboration with employers to ensure that students will be equipped with the skills they need. They offer a mixture of classroom learning and ‘on the job’ experience with at least 45 days spent on an industry placement with an employer. With a T Level, students can progress straight on to skilled work, higher study or apprenticeships.

T Levels are at the forefront of this government’s technical education offer. They are excellent qualifications based on employer-led standards and they break down barriers to opportunity, giving young people hands-on experience through industry placements.
