I work for Decho and I’m a consulting engineer. Decho is a startup and it’s quite a new company. We do technology consulting and AI. Partnering with Ada has really helped us branch out to younger people and help Decho grow. We encourage young people to join us so we can train them up to become consulting engineers.
So the apprentices in the workplace so far, have been great. The combination of studying at the college and then working with us has just been great. They learn a lot in the college and then they come with us and they get that real-world experience. And honestly, they’ve been performing fantastically. They’ve been so excited and we have deployments that we put people on with clients, and yeah, just getting that real-world experience is crucial.
The modules that the apprentices have been studying have been really relevant to the kind of work that we do, and it’s just accelerated their learning a lot. Ada are actively supporting Decho’s goals in social mobility and technology. So we do this by offering opportunities to everyone. Not just from the generic university pathways, but through apprenticeships, so they can gain real-world experience and learn in industry.
Apprentices really help Decho grow. And it’s just good to have young people in the office who are learning and who are striving for knowledge, and they really put a new lease of life into the office.
Decho believes that progression is not inevitable, it’s engineered.
