Roya Amiri, Tech Consulting Apprentice (Autumn 2024), Bank of America
Huge congratulations to Roya, who was named a finalist in the Digital and Technology category at the Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards!
With 152 finalists recognised across a wide range of sectors, the awards celebrate talent, diversity and the determination of apprentices who have overcome challenges to achieve their goals. We couldn’t be prouder of Roya’s commitment, rigour and resilience, always standing out and never shining away from a challenge.
Muumbe Hapenga, Software Engineering Apprentice (Autumn 2024), PwC
Muumbe has had a busy first year at PwC and yet, still finds time to make an impact beyond her apprenticeship. She recently stepped into a new role as Events Officer at Black Girl’s Space, a Manchester-based community dedicated to empowering students and professionals who identify with Black womanhood.
With plans already underway for CV workshops, film nights and even a blood drive, Muumbe continues to create spaces for connection and opportunity alongside her technical career.
Griffiths Pfebve, Software Engineering Apprentice (Autumn 2024), HSBC
Griffiths developed BASE, a collaborative onboarding programme and handbook for apprentices and graduates, built using Confluence to ensure it’s easy to update and accessible to all. The response has been so positive that HSBC is now using BASE as part of this year’s official induction for new apprentices, an incredible achievement!
Ibrahim Mir, Tech Consulting Apprentice (Autumn 2023), PwC
Ibrahim has been exceptionally busy, and successful over the past year. Through funding from We Love MCR Charity’s Rising Stars programme, he launched his own halal marketing agency, growing his client base and even employing a paid team member.
Alongside this, Ibrahim was voted Most Likely to Make Partner and is nominated for Judges’ Choice at the Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards in November. He also runs his own apprenticeship TikTok channel and has created a practical application guide to support future apprentices, a brilliant example of giving back.
HSBC apprentices
Finally, a special mention goes to a group of apprentices at HSBC, including Aireen, Asfandyar, Hudhayfah, Hashim and Kennedy, among others, who organised a bake sale in memory of a fellow apprentice who sadly passed away earlier this year.
The event brought together colleagues from across the organisation and raised over £1,000 for a foundation supporting the construction of a mosque in Pakistan. As the charity’s first fundraising event, it was a powerful and heartfelt way to honour their colleague’s legacy while supporting his family and community.
We’re incredibly proud of every Ada apprentice who continues to push boundaries, support others and shape the future of digital skills. Thank you for everything you do!
